Down and Dirty Knitting for Newbies – Learn to cast on, knit, purl, change balls and bind off. By the end of this two hour workshop you will have the skills required to make beautiful scarves! Practice materials are provided for use in class.

New Knitter Project Class – Make a sweater, a poncho, a series of scarves or whatever else you’ve been dreaming about. This class is geared to new knitters and knitters who have just picked up their needles again after many years. The first class will allow you some time to pick your project. During the class you will learn about:

  • different types of yarn and fibers
  • how to read a yarn label
  • how to read a simple pattern
  • how to check your tension and select the appropriate needle size
  • how to correct mistakes
  • how to increase and decrease
  • how to make a beautiful and simple knit garment!

Dr. Fixit – In this two-hour session you will learn the very practical skills behind fixing your own mistakes!!! No more phoning grandma in a panic. You’ll be able to do it yourself. We will cover ripping back unwanted rows, how to put stitches back on the needle properly, what to do if you come across a stitch that’s on the needle the wrong way, how to pick up dropped stitches, how to count your rows and stitches so that you know where you are in your pattern, how to mend a hole, plus any other questions that you have.
